A Note about After Care

Josie In our Wholistic Paws' Practice Philosophies, we firmly believe that pets are family members. As such, we believe that our animal companions deserve the utmost respect and care even after they have passed away. To provide this, Wholistic Paws Veterinary Services has teamed up with a local pet crematory. We will personally deliver your pet from your home to the crematory and then return their cremains (ashes) to you when you are ready, usually within a few days. This service is unique to Wholistic Paws as most veterinary practices use cremation services who only pick up or deliver to their hospital once a week. While these services are credible, this practice delays the return of your pet's ashes to your family and also involves a "middle man." At Wholistic Paws Veterinary Services, we pledge to treat your pet like our own and give them the most responsible and respectful after care possible.

We recognize that some families may opt for cremation but do not wish their pet's ashes returned to them. At Wholistic Paws Veterinary Services, we will still offer the same responsible and respectful transport of your pet directly from your home to the local pet crematory.

At Wholistic Paws Veterinary Services, we can also advise you regarding other after care options for your pet. Not every family wants to have their pet cremated. For these families, we recommend the following burial options:

You may bury your pet at home if allowed by local laws.
You may contact Noah's Ark Pet Cemetery (703-573-8800) for burial in a pet cemetery located in Falls Church, VA.
You may contact The Pet EcoForest Cemetery (540-687-6262) for burial in a forest located in Camp Highroad in Middleburg, VA.
